My wife is a three-time cancer survivor thanks to the Kaiser Oakland Cancer Center. I believe Elizabeth Cureton was one of her docs (“Keep it Simple,” Sept/Oct 2019). I’ve met other Brown docs throughout her cancer journey. I initially chose Kaiser because it was the cheapest health care option and was apprehensive when my wife became ill. Knowing the quality education that I received at Brown, it was comforting whenever I met a fellow Brown alum at Kaiser. I felt a connection, that my wife wouldn’t be just another Jane Doe patient, and no doubts about the medical pedigree.
