Send feedbackAs a potential homebound old person (aren’t we all?), I was chilled to read that Associate Professor Kali Thomas is helping Meals on Wheels by “upgrading the mobile app used by delivery drivers so they can submit concerns about health, self-care, and other issues to a navigator for follow-up” (“Deals on Wheels,” The Big Search, July/August). Not all old people who need meal delivery would welcome such monitoring; some would consider it an invasion of privacy. It would be better to ask recipients whether they want it—or at least alert them that delivery drivers will be judging their “self-care,” so they can arrange for less intrusive meal delivery.
