Send feedbackI must object to Brown philosophy Professor Felicia Nimue Ackerman and her dartboard. In light of the attempted assassination of the Republican baseball team by a former Bernie Sanders campaign worker, the video of Kathy Griffin holding Trump’s severed head, Joe Biden wanting to punch Trump in the nose and Madonna thinking a lot about blowing up the White House, I would have hoped the BAM would promote tolerance, not hate.
When I took Classics 101 at Brown in 1973, we read Homer’s Iliad. Its first word, by some translations, is “anger,” and it goes on to describe how Achilles’s wrath was self-destructive. Professor Ackerman and all Brown Trump haters should reread it.

THE LETTER LADY
In response to “Woman of Letters” (Current Obsession, July/August 2018):
Newspapers are doomed, they say,
Truth lost in the nasty fray.
Subscribers dropping like flies
Fake news a rising tide
But not if Felicia can help it.
If in doubt just Yelp it.
She gets five stars in the Times
For the keen wit of her lines.
If you missed her last letter
Here’s the next, even better.
