Reader Responses to Black Girl Magic

Reading “Black Girl Magic” by Julia Chance (Jan–March 2021) was so emotionally satisfying. The article gave a wonderful history of Delta Sigma Theta. To know that the Lambda Iota chapter is carrying on the ideals and mission of Delta is truly heartwarming.

Reading “Black Girl Magic,” by Julia Chance, along with the illustrations of Bijou Karman, was so emotionally satisfying. The article gave a wonderful history of Delta Sigma Theta. To know that the Lambda Iota Chapter, since 1974, is carrying on the ideals and mission of Delta is truly heartwarming. I am a charter member of the Providence Alumnae Chapter and was involved in the establishment of Lambda Iota. It was very exciting for us at that time.

I also want to commend the BAM for featuring Karman’s beautiful artwork on the cover of the January-March 2021 issue. I have been a Delta for 80 years. Congratulations to my wonderful Sorors of Lambda Iota.
