Send feedbackWith dismay I read “Mind Altered” by Peter Falk in the What Do You Think? Section of the April-May BAM. I was amazed by the number of young men and women that Sidney Gottlieb, the former CIA head of service technical staff, was able to destroy. My distress led me to read Poisoner in Chief by Steven Kinzer. This book illustrates many examples of the human destruction of Gottlieb. My question is why didn’t anyone supervise the devastating work of this evil man who so easily destroyed so many promising minds?

What a great BAM this time!! [Jan.-March ’21]It was shocking, heartening, and fascinating all at once. But most horrifying was the article reviewing The Poisoner in Chief by Stephen Kinzer and its revelation that the president of Brown while I was there, Barnaby Keeney, was involved in this frightening work. I would like to requote Isabel Paolini ’19 who worked on the research for the book, “It really brings into focus the need for better observation and control over what bureaucracies are doing inside their own walls.” Take heed.
