The idea of providing OPCs has been opposed by almost everyone in the drug prevention and rehabilitation field. I have been involved since 1977 as a board member and chairman of New York Therapeutic Communities Inc. We operate two residential treatment centers, do outpatient counseling for probation and parole agencies, and also now operate a separate location to deal with the opioid crisis. I suggest you host a seminar on campus and invite the experts who deal with these issues every day, not only academics untouched by the day-to-day reality of addiction.
