Send feedbackI want to commend President Paxson on her commitment to free speech and for Brown’s agreement with those exercising free speech: the Brown protesters against U.S., and University, complicity with the terrible civilian death toll in Gaza. I am very sympathetic to the many Israelis whose lives have been cut short or otherwise devastated by the terrible and violent Hamas attack on October 7, but the response has been devastating and criminal in its effects on every Palestinian family in Gaza, leading so many students to publicly deplore U.S. involvement. I am so proud of Brown’s students, and now the administration, for coming to an agreement, within this commitment to free speech on campus, on how to proceed with divestment relative to the crisis in Gaza.
