Send feedbackHarvard at 36 percent vis a vis Brown at 8 percent says it all. Legacy preferences are excellent and provide inclusion, loyalty, love of the institution, and willingness to contribute monies after graduation. I have seen this. What comes to mind is the rejection of those who would be third or fourth generation Brown admits. I can tell you story after story of the successes of these turndowns who went to other elite schools and contributed greatly. What is the breakdown of legacy donations vis a vis the 92 percent who aren’t legacies? Harvard leads the way; Brown should follow. At least move it to 20 percent.
